Tarascon Empanadas

Argentinian food, one tarascon at a time

About Us

We are a family of 4 Argentinian immigrants that settled down in the Spokane area. We came to the US in 2002 and finalized the immigration process by becoming US Citizens in Spokane, WA, in 2014. Since there was no Argentinian food in the Inland Northwest of the USA, we decided to open Tarascon Empanadas in North Spokane. We have been making empanadas for years (in Argentina, before relocating to the US) and friends and neighbors are always very interested in trying them.

Our son expressed an interest in opening an Argentinian restaurant in Spokane. To gain first-hand experience in the restaurant business he worked for a couple of years in the kitchens of local restaurants (Sante Restaurant, Dbali, Italia Trattoria, Maple Street Bistro, etc.). Since we closed during COVID, Ari Jr. took the Culinary Arts degree in Spokane College and graduated in 2022.

Our daughter also got a couple of years of experience in front-of-house at local places, working in the Onion Bar and Grill and at Azteca restaurant as a server.

We closed our first restaurant in March 2020 due to COVID and we’re currently looking for a good location in Spokane to open again. This time we’re planning on a Café style, with more Argentinian dishes and pastries.
